Most patients understand this.<\/p>\n<p>As a general rule, Dr. Petrus Raulino does not write prescriptions outside of medical consultations.<\/p>\n<p>To issue a prescription, the doctor must update the balance of benefits versus side effects of the medication, as well as the treatment schedule, and provide guidance. The medical consultation is the appropriate \"space\" to meet these objectives.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, the prescription must necessarily be \"backed up\" by knowledge validated in an up-to-date consultation. The prescription must be understood as a consequence of the consultation, not as an end in itself.<\/p>\n<p>Every prescription issued is scheduled for a specific time until the re-evaluation appointment.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for re-evaluation at a doctor's appointment is set at the end of each appointment. People who ask their psychiatrist for automatic prescription renewals without a consultation, often for the convenience of a telephone request, seem to be unaware that medicines can be responsible for deaths or serious complications, especially if they are taken improperly by self-medication.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The client (patient or companion) may not use the image or audio of this consultation with the psychiatrist without your express authorization;<br><br><\/li><li>For the doctor to be able to use and analyze it properly, the client (patient or companion) must provide ALL possible information, NOT omitting any information about their signs and symptoms;\n<br><br><\/li>\n<li>The accuracy of the information provided by the client (patient or companion) is necessary due to the absence of a face-to-face clinical assessment by the psychiatrist;\n<br><br><\/li>\n<li>The patient may be asked to take photos of parts of their body, depending on the complaint, and the images will be filed in their medical records (for example, in the case of an adverse skin reaction due to the use of medication prescribed by the psychiatrist);<br>it may be necessary to carry out additional tests for a better diagnosis;\n<br><br><\/li>\n<li>The patient may be referred, according to the psychiatrist's assessment, to a health service;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2054\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Telepsychiatry (online consultations)<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2054\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2054\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>Following the global state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Council of Medicine and the Brazilian Psychiatric Association recognized the practice of Telemedicine.<\/p><p>Telemedicine is the practice of medicine through interactive remote medical care using technologies that are largely based on the Internet.<\/p><p>Telemedicine focused on psychiatry, also known as telepsychiatry, is a viable practice that has been exceptionally approved as a strategy for caring for patients and their families during the pandemic.<\/p><p>Telemedicine (including Telepsychiatry) takes place via videoconferencing, telephone or cell phone applications. The same degree of privacy and confidentiality as face-to-face medical consultations must be maintained.
